Precision Manufacturing Helping Customers Go Further
ATD Precision Manufacturing is a Phoenix‑based, family‑owned manufacturer providing high‑reliability sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining for aerospace, defense, communications, and space programs. Since 1951, our team has grown from a small South Phoenix job shop into a multi‑building, 35,000‑square‑foot operation equipped with 3, 4, and 5‑axis machining centers, advanced laser cutting, and automated CMM inspection to support demanding, GD&T‑intensive parts. As a trusted partner, we produce components that help make aerospace travel possible, keep communications seamless, and support rockets that have carried NASA astronauts to space since 2020.
Heritage and Evolution
1951 - 1985

1951 - 1985
Established in 1951 by Otis Jordan
One mill, 4 guys, and 904 square feet in South Phoenix is how it all began. The initial orders were from Garrett for jigs and fixtures for their engine production lines. By 1952 the transition to piece production started with the purchase of a lathe and hone.
ATD grew in the aerospace industry for 34 years in the same location by expanding the building several times to 10,000 square feet. It's core services were tools and dies, general machining, and stamping.
1985 - 2000

1985 - 2000
Mike Jordan took the reins of the company after Otis passed away and put his experience as an electrical and mechanical engineer to immediate effect. Laser cutting, welding, and sheet metal fabrication were added as capabilities to expand the product mix on offer.
In 1992 an additional 12,000 square foot building was built next door to the original building. During the next few years EDM and 3-axis CNC machining were brought in-house to increase production. The main industry served was commercial aerospace parts.
2000 - 2015

2000 - 2015
After the early passing of her husband Mike, Bridget took over the management of the family business. She added a third building to accommodate the continued growth bringing the total onsite building capacity to 35,000 square feet.
She embraced new technology by adding 4 & 5 axis CNC machining and fiber lasers. She chose to retire in 2015.
2015 to Present

2015 to Present
Bill Jordan took over management for the family business in 2015.
In the technology arena the focus has been on expanding 5-axis capacity in both CNC and laser cutting.
Another focus has been to expand the industries served from primarily commercial aviation to include communications, DOD projects, and space itself.
ATD is proud to have produced parts for rockets that have carried NASA astronauts to space since 2020.
Who We Serve and What We Build
ATD partners with engineers and supply chain teams in commercial aerospace, space, defense/DOD projects, and communications who need reliable, inspection‑ready metal components for critical applications. Our work ranges from sheet metal brackets to complex CNC‑machined parts, typically sized between a basketball and a grape, produced from stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum alloys in bar, plate, forging, and casting forms. With in‑house 5‑axis laser cutting and drilling, welding, and robust quality processes, we deliver tight tolerance parts that integrate cleanly into high‑stakes assemblies.
People, Culture, and Values
ATD is a multi‑generation, family‑owned company where long‑tenured machinists, fabricators, and inspectors take pride in building parts that truly matter. The team culture emphasizes craftsmanship, collaboration, and respect, reflected in operators with decades of experience and a shared commitment to doing the job right the first time. Above all, the people at ATD are what truly makes the company different.
Mission
ATD’s mission is to be a trusted partner to customers by providing parts that make aerospace travel possible, keep communications seamless, and enable us to boldly go where no man has gone before.
Vision
ATD’s vision is to be a company that employees look forward to being a part of because we are all more than just employees. This internal focus on valuing every team member as a true stakeholder drives our ability to deliver exceptional results for customers in aerospace, space, and beyond.
